Vitality: 'VELJEBIV' BioMech by FutureFavorite Vitality: 'VELJEBIV' BioMech by FutureFavorite
FINALLY able to shell out some Vital Vitality work!

been itching to get some designs done after a 5 month period of showing nothing for it.

This took longer then expected but in the end i REALLY like how it came out.

(Info taken from concept piece.)
"UNMANED UTILITARIAN BIO-MECH USED FOR MILITARY AND
CORPORATE SECUIRTY OPERATIONS AND CAN BE OPERATED VIA NUERAL LINK TO AN OUSTSIDE USER OR AI INTIATIVE.

CONTAINS A HIGH IMPACT REACTIVE STEEL CHASSIS WITH
BIOSYNTHETIC MUSCLES GRAFTED ON THE MECH WITH SPECIALLY
DESIGNED STEM CELL CHARGING PODS ON THE SHOULDERS AND UPPER ARMS FOR SELF REPAIR OF ORGANIC PARTS. A DUAL CIRCUIT GLUCOSE CIRCULATORY SYSTEM TRANSFER “BLOOD” TO THE ORGANIC MUSCLES CARRYING STEM CELLS IN A NUTRIENT RICH GLUCOSE MILK WHICH CAN REPAIR DAMAGED PARTS OF THE MUSCLES.

EQUIPED WITH A BELT FED 20MM. AUTO CANNON ON THE TIP OF THE HEAD AND 6 SHORT BODIED TARGET SEEKING STINGER MISSLES"

"VELJEBIV" is one of the most popular demand medium class bio mechs up for widespread adoption on vitality.

The idea of using stem cell technology to create these bio mechs came to me as an interesting way to convey the idea of a certain future as stem cells could possibly bridge the space between man machine interface. Stem cells in the Vitality Universe are mass produced for pharmaceutical and military purposes to create synthetic muscles for Bio Mechs and for Muscle suits witch use active charged stem cells to repair the user/ damaged muscles and perform special actions such as gravity manipulation and wave bursting etc...

The use of stem cells as I stated before where a way of me conveying a possible idea of how we would use them in the future as stem cells are the most powerful organic material discovered. also to add some controversy into the socio political ramifications of the lore in Vitality.

Again a very neat presentation style. I also like the combination of organic materials with the mechanical parts, very Gekko-ish. :)

Lookin' pretty sexy! Did you upscale the image at some point, or is that blurriness on the feet and hand just for visual effect?

Its a visual effect. its suppose to add some depth. the arms and legs behind are supposed to be farther away and the blurryness adds to that.

very cool, would it be ok if I model this in 3D? for my personal port. Id credit u as concept artist of coruse, plus maybe we can have a chat about it via skype, as I plan to model several hard surface characters for a youtube series=)

I would be fine with that but the only problem is this is a concept work for a Media project and designed for that project specifically.

If you would like you could commission me to make some concept pieces of mechs/bots for you to model?

Commission? lol, no, no thank you. Im just picking random works around DA to model for my portfolio, so any concept works even those from other projects. Thanks

Pretty cool looking mech. Although I wonder if the heavily built gun-head has difficulty in aiming at targets.

thanks! there some degree of vertical/horizontal movement but not much. its used if facing directly infront or near the target. long distance or just a quick reacive gun for a hostile. either then that "Viljebevs" will actually use melee attacks such as the arm blades or attack physically with powerful punches or kicks.

I see. Certainly wouldn't want to get cornered by one. What does Viljebev mean?

:iconfuturefavorite:
FutureFavorite Featured By Owner Jul 25, 2012  Student Digital Artist
AH! i probably should have added that! its Ancient Scavish for "Strong willed/ Powerful Beast Man" "WillFull Man beast" (Veljeyot is actually a derivative of the old norse word "Vilja" which means "Strong willed powerful. persistent. intending" and Bev is a Shorten linguistically derivative of the norse word Bjorn which means "bear"
Bev is actually meaning "Beast. large beast. feral" When attached to words like velje or words that imply personality it changes the word bev meaning Beast to the same scavish word Bev except the definition has changed from Beast to "In the image of us/ Large man/ Man beast"

Remeber Julie Anne? the almost 8 foot tall giant woman? She can be considered a physical example of a "Large beast in the image of us (man)" aka a "Beyiv"
Similar to the norse myth of BeoWulf. which in English for Bee Wolf = Bear

So Veljeyot-Veljanya-Velje or velj(all diffrent ways of saying Powerful but mostly grasping the same meaning) = Powerful. willfull. strong. Anything to do with strength/ determination/ masculinity.

and

Bev-biv-Beyiv-Jyabiv (all diffrent ways of saying Beast or large man mostly grasping the same meaning) = Feral. beast. large beast in the image of us (man). large man/woman.

Veljebiv = Powerful large man/ powerful large beast man

hopefully that wasnt too much :)

thats interesting, i usually prefer my mechs with good old hydrolics and mechanical parts, but i must say this is a system i had not considored, i may have to look into it on my up comming designs, as this muscle stucture may well provide a solution to the incredibly difficult hip joint area on smaller units

The benefit of synthetic bio mechs are that they more fluid, quicker and more agile as well as very adaptable to different physical limitations, the trade off is the lack the protection of metal plates and can be easily damage, hence why a more appropriate use for them is infantry, heavy cqc foot soldiers. As stated they can quickly heal the organic parts in a matter of hours.
Bedside the missile and head gun they can utilize special heavy weapons like chain guns and all that good stuff etc.

indeed, sounds like a nice flexible light weight unit, i have been looking into designing a lighter scout unit, one possibly capable of climbing onto much larger less agile machines , utalising chain blades to make quik work of critical systems, most of my machines use a twin heat diffuser on the back, essentially giving two small weak points on the shoulders , this has proved to be a good weakspot,

(while i could probably deign it out of the machine, it makes for good story telling , seeing as the 'head' of a mecha is less vital than the human soldier, the snipers need something to aim for )

aside from use in smaller units i might consider using them as optional joint systems, as most systems on my designs are modular and interchangable in the field , also i may look into fitting the bio systems into a exo shell to give armour protection, i think i'll look at scorpian anatomy to get a flexible armour design

Ahh. my only gripe about using any heat or plasma based energy ssytems is that if there shot there likely to explode. and it not like you can just cover them up as they need a venting system as well. Bio mechs use Bio energy which is powered via specially modified positive charged stem cells. Its an infinite power scource energy power source but cant be expanded to higher grade mechs. mostly useful for a smaller more tactical fit. And stated before structurally speaking the organic parts are fairly susceptible to small arms and gun fire but heal quickly. So Biomechs (or at least my designs) don't necessarily have a weak point. but you would probably want to take out the organic parts first.

well....if you take out the medical pods on the shoulders you could damage its ability to heal itself.

Ive actually found that most Real life mechs have all major thinking systems in the body where the head is strictly for cameras and Comms.

Thats actually a realy good use for them. would provide MUCH more freedom in terms of maneuverability and speed. the only problem is the joints would need to be un-plated to allow freedom and would be a weakspot.

Ah Chitin. The cool thing about that is that its constantly reefreshing. polarizing new cells ontop of dead cells. which mean if you mech were to be shot new cells would cover and harden the damage. The damage would still be done but you would have a harder more thicker shell.

interesting, its certianly a great area of mech technology, i think quite advanced though, as with my stuff i have highly advanced grade 0 tech, best of the best, prototypes etc, going down to grade 5, which is very simple, yet highly reliable with few advanced systems, for integratuon into my existing setting, the bio mech tech would probably be grade 1/0

i would imagine it giving much more fluid movemnt as it mimicks muscles, and so quite hard to control, compared to more simplistic movements of a walker of basic humanoid mecha, and so is more demanding on pilots

i take som inspiration from full metal panic, which has the three generations of AS , each being more sophisticated than its predecessor, and thus far harder to maintain
in some parts of story ideas, i invision grade tech in the hands of raids and pirates, its cheep to buy, easy to find, and can be maintained easily, even fabricating replacement parts from scratch if need be
